Neil was Executive Producer of ITV’s award-winning Formula 1 coverage for 12 years. The production won the BAFTA for best sports programming three years in a row. It also won the Royal Television Society award for innovation and countless other honours.

Neil worked closely with the legendary motorsport commentator Murray Walker and paired him in the commentary box with the recently retired F1 driver Martin Brundle.

At the British Grand Prix in 1997 he also created Martin’s first grid walk – which became one of the most celebrated elements of its coverage and runs to this day.

Neil’s ‘story first’ approach to the sport grew the audience numbers and made F1 one of ITV’s biggest sporting hits.

His strong relationship with F1 continues to this day, with various Guy Martin specials, as well as the Emmy-winning Brawn: The Impossible Formula One Story and the soon to be released series on the birth of the Cadillac team.
